Story of Luka

Luka is a young teen from Georgia whose father contacted the CF Bridge of Hope in April 2016 to seek help for his son. On Dr. Sadeghi’s next trip to Iran in May 2016, Luka and his father traveled from Tibilisi to Tehran for a medical evaluation. Luka showed good prospects for benefiting from the treatments and medicines the CF Bridge of Hope offers in the United States and we started working immediately on securing a visa and travel arrangements for him

With great support from our partners at the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, the visa application was successfully processed and Luka was scheduled to travel to visit our clinic in Stamford, to arrive on July 29.

Together with new friends from the CF Bridge of Hope, they enjoyed a day of boat cruising organized by Zak of Dolphin Yacht in Stamford, CT. So happens, Luka’s father is also celebrating his birthday. Tomorrow Luka begins his treatment regimen with Dr. Sadeghi.
  • August 2016After receiving treatment, Luka is feeling great and in preparation for his departure back to Georgia, a farewell event was organized to bring together all of the wonderful people who made Luka’s 3-week stay in the United States possible.

  • January 2017 – Luka is doing well and gaining some healthy weight. Luka’s father is updating us monthly on his progress. We are looking forward to having Luka visit us again in late Spring or early Summer of 2017 for his follow up treatment.
