Story of Camila

Camila is a 6 year old girl from Ecuador, whose lung condition, affected by Cystic Fibrosis, needed medical care.

  • September 2017 – Camila and her mother arrive in the United States to take part in treatment remedies for her CF condition. During her 3 week stay with the CF Bridge of Hope program, where she received a full workup and treatment, her condition materially improves. During her stay Camila, who did not speak English, developed a great way to communicate with our doctors, staff and her hosts using wonderful pictures. She has since returned  to Ecuador with a positive prognosis.
  • September 2018Camila is doing very well, and even well enough to participate in a local bike race in her home country of Ecuador. In this video, which Camila shared with us, she receives a medal for winning her competition.
