In February 2017 Dr. Sadeghi and Dr. Raissi traveled to Iran to see over 40 children who are in various stages of Cystic Fibrosis.
During their 10 day visit, Dr. Sadeghi and Dr. Raissi gave several lectures at Pars Hospital in Tehran to families of children with CF, focusing on medical treatment and home therapy procedures to manage the patient’s symptoms. They also worked to help start the Iranian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In the photo, in addition to Dr. Sadeghi and Dr. Raisi are physicians from Pars Hospital.
Through the generosity of several pharmaceutical firms, we were also able to distribute airway clearance devices, vitamins, pancreatic enzymes and other medicines that will be made available to local patients.
Their visit also resulted in identifying and qualifying two additional patients which the CF Bridge of Hope will be sponsoring to come to the United States for treatment. They are two young girls: Rasta – age 5 and Mahsheed – age 12. Our attorneys at Cravath, Swaine & Moore are currently working on securing visa and travel documents for Rasta and Mahsheed and we hope to see them here within the next few weeks.
