The CF Bridge of Hope is your resource for informaton and assistance when you need help with the care and wellbeing of your CF child or family member.
As with most complex ailments, treating Cystic Fibrosis requires a formal regiment of treatment protocols and medicines to maintain the patient’s health and manage their CF symptoms. We offer this treatment at no charge to the patient or their family, depending on their financial situation, and provide assistance with travel to our clinic and accommodations for the duration of the treatment (usually about 2 weeks) for the patient and their guardian.
Medicines and Equipment
Treatment of the symptoms of CF require a regiment of advanced pharmacological solutions as well as therapy equipment to assist in the patient’s breathing and lung mainteance. In many cases we have been successful in obtaining and offering these to our CF Bridge of Hope patients at no charge for the duration of their stay as well as for an extended period once they leave our clinic.
You have questions and authoritative information on how best to treat your child’s symptoms may be hard to find. We conduct routine workshops and family conceling events for patients and their caregivers to bring to them knowledge and share our best practices. During these events we demonstrate the use of the most current equipment and help you become familiar with routines and care practices which will offer the best hope for your child to stay healthy. During the patient’s stay, the family and individual with CF are educated on daily treatment plans, proper use of medications and equipment and nutritional requirements.
Many of our patients benefit from return visits to our clinic to receive updated medicines and by going through a 2 week therapy program to address any deteriorating factors, re-build their strength and improve their respiratory and nutritional status.
